The first weekend of every month, Bank of America's monthly "Museums on Us" program offers free admission to a number of Rhode Island's top museums!
The nationwide program is available to all Bank of America, Merrill, and Bank of America Private Bank cardholders, and opens up more than 225 of the nation's most prominent cultural institutions in 35 states. In Rhode Island, the participating museums are:
Providence Children's MuseumCheck out the Children's Garden and Coming to Rhode Island: Embark on an interactive time-traveling adventure to meet people who immigrated to Rhode Island from around the world and explore history, culture and diversity through stories.
RISD MuseumA Medley of Irises June 13, 2026 – March 14, 2027Irises occupy an important place in Japanese visual and literary arts. This exhibition highlights the art of the iris from the 1700s to the 1900s in Japanese woodblock prints, books, and ceramics.
Newport Art MuseumThree new exhibits on view now.Angel Otero: The Ocean Forgot Your Garden Howard Gardiner Cushing: Rediscoveries, and Sheila Isham: Between Worlds - a focused presentation of the artist’s work, organized through key chapters that trace the unfolding of her life and career. Across more than six decades, Isham created a body of painting that reflects a deeply personal journey through abstraction.
Bank of America offers this benefit to promote greater cultural understanding, expand accessibility to the arts, and strengthen communities. Upon arriving at a participating institution, customers need only present their Bank of America, Merrill or Bank of America Private Bank credit or debit card along with a photo ID to gain free general admission for themselves.

Discover Ocean State Adventures at the Museum of Natural History and Planetarium in Roger Williams Park! Spend the summer exploring Rhode Island’s rich natural history, coastal environments and night skies! Families can enjoy hands-on activities, museum quests, daily planetarium shows and MORE. Inspired by America’s upcoming 250th anniversary, this summer celebration highlights the stories, science, and natural wonders that make the Ocean State unique - with fun and discovery for visitors of all ages. Summer Shellabration begins Monday, June 29. 


Daily Activities | Monday, June 29 – Sunday, September 6 9:30am–3:30pm | Ocean State Family Fun Explore a variety of family-friendly, hands-on activities highlighting the natural wonders of Rhode Island. Cost: Free with Museum admission. Museum admission is $2 | Free for <a href="https://www.providenceri.gov/museum/membership/" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">Museum Members</a> and children under age 4. Monday through Friday | 1pm | Summer Sky Views Planetarium Show Explore our night sky. Take a tour of the skies and discover the constellations, planets, nebulae and other stunning night sky objects that can be seen in the night sky. Video imagery will bring viewers up close to black holes, star-forming nebulae and more, showing discoveries in astrophysics while instilling a sense of wonder about our universe. (General Audience) Audience: General (children must be age 4+) Cost: Planetarium show ticket (includes museum admission) is $5/ <a href="https://www.providenceri.gov/museum/membership/" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">Museum Members</a> Free. Saturday and Sunday | 1pm | Journey to the Stars Planetarium Show Featuring images from telescopes on the ground and in space and stunning visualizations of physics-based simulations, this show launches visitors through space and time to experience the life and death of the stars in our night sky, including our own nurturing Sun. Tour familiar stellar formations, explore celestial mysteries and discover the fascinating, unfolding story that connects us all to the stars. IMPORTANT PLANETARIUM SHOW GUIDELINES: Tickets are recommended to be reserved online, including for <a href="https://www.providenceri.gov/museum/membership/" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">Museum Members</a>. Availability is limited. All sales are final. Everyone attending the planetarium show needs a ticket. Children must be age 4 or older; those 15 and under must be accompanied by an adult. Children must be supervised at all times. Phones must be silenced, and attendees should remain quiet during the show to help everyone enjoy the full experience. Please arrive at least 15 minutes early for check-in, as doors close at showtime and will not reopen—no late entry is permitted for visitor safety once the show begins.

 ⏰ ARRIVAL TIME Our studio opens 30 minutes prior to class time. We recommend arriving 15–30 minutes early to find parking, grab a drink, and get settled.
Please note: If you arrive late, the artist may not be able to fill you in on the steps you missed, as they will be focused on guiding the rest of the class. If you arrive more than 20 minutes late, we kindly ask that you do not join the session. Late arrivals can be disruptive and may not have enough time to complete the painting. Unfortunately, we cannot offer refunds or reschedules for late arrivals.

The Cultural Survival Bazaar, an Indigenous Art Market and Festival that has been a local tradition for over 50 years, supporting Indigenous livelihoods, cultural sustainability, and personal connections that transverse culture and country. Make an Indigenous craft, listen to live world music, participate in dance, delight in the flavors of cultural foods, and celebrate the season with family and friends by making a difference in the world.
The Cultural Survival Bazaar, organized by the Indigenous-led nonprofit of the same name, has served as a premier fair-trade festival for global Indigenous arts and culture since 1975. The event connects artisans from five continents directly with consumers, offering unique, handmade items ranging from textiles and jewelry to home goods, with all purchases supporting Indigenous livelihoods and community projects. Shoppers support millennia-old traditions and the lifeways of Indigenous communities worldwide.&nbsp;

The annual Bazaars are a program of the International, Indigenous-led NGO, Cultural Survival. Cultural Survival advocates for Indigenous Peoples' rights and supports Indigenous communities’ self-determination, cultures, and political resilience since 1972 (<a href="https://www.cs.org/" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">www.cs.org</a>).&nbsp;
