PROVIDENCE, RI – A Cumberland man has been charged with 27 counts—the majority of which are related to guns and drugs—following his arrest in February, Attorney General Peter F. Neronha said in a Monday news release.

Alex Parfitt, 42, was charged May 9, months after the January evening when Cumberland police responded to a domestic disturbance report on West Wrentham Road before the victim told them that Parfitt had been throwing her belongings around the house and “ashing” cigarettes on her bed, officials said.

Officers said Parfitt, who fled the scene, was in violation of a no-contact order by being in the house.
