Gas Leak At Fountain Street In Providence
Employees at the Rhode Island Department of Human Services have been evacuated.

PROVIDENCE, RI - A gas leak at Fountain Street closed the road between Eddy and Empire streets while emergency crews try to find the source.
A state employee at the Rhode Island Department of Human Services, located at 40 Fountain Street, smelled gas in the building at about 11 a.m., and then called the fire department, acting deputy assistant fire chief Kevin Jutras told the Providence Journal.
Employees have been evacuated. First responders then contacted National Grid, who discovered the leak was coming from the road outside.

All employees are asked to stay out of the building until National Grid says it is safe. Providence Gas Company was also called to respond.
The cause of the leak is still under investigation
