More Electric Bikes, Scooters Coming To Providence

Bird scooters are returning to Providence, joining a lineup which now consists of options from companies Veo and Spin.

PROVIDENCE, RI — The number of electric bike and scooter options is growing in Providence, as two companies are set to join the local market.

Bird scooters will make a return to the city after a "grand opening, grand closing" sort of appearance in Providence in 2018. They'll be joined by Veo as a new addition to the market, which already includes Spin.

Spin, though already operational, will increase the number of e-bikes and scooters through the city.

Bird and Veo will offer 100 e-bikes and 100 scooters beginning this month across the city, and increase their offering to 200 e-bikes and 200 scooters each by September, city officials said. Spin will expand their current footprint by an additional 200 e-bikes and 200 scooters.
