Pawtucket Man Arrested In Drug Raid Also Charged With Providence Drive-By Shooting: Cops

PROVIDENCE, RI — A Pawtucket man arrested Tuesday when officers executed a search warrant at his Pawtucket apartment and found guns and drugs was wanted on a warrant charging him with a Providence drive-by shooting, police said.

Anthony Folcarelli, 30, was arrested on a warrant charging him with felony assault with a dangerous weapon, drive-by shooting, license or permit to carry a firearm, possession of a firearm by a prohibited person, the Rhode Island State Police said in a media release.

The warrant stemmed from a Providence Police Department case, according to the release.

Folcarelli was charged with a June 27 gun attack on Ophelia Street, Kristy dosReis, the chief public information officer for the Providence Department of Public Safety, said in an email.

Shortly before 6:30 a.m. that day, an occupant of a gray SUV with heavily tinted windows opened fire as the vehicle drove past, a witness told police, dosReis said.

Folcarelli and Davon Silva, 29, both were arrested on charges of intent to deliver cocaine, fentanyl and methamphetamine, keeping or maintaining a common nuisance, possession of a firearm while delivering or manufacturing narcotics, manufacturing, selling, purchasing or possessing a machine gun, modification of a semiautomatic weapon, possession of a ghost gun, large capacity feeding devices prohibited, and conspiracy after a search warrant was executed at the Newport Avenue apartment Tuesday, the Pawtucket Police Department said in a media release.

During the search, officers found "two pistols with automatic switches, one being a ghost gun, two high-capacity magazines," and cocaine, fentanyl and methamphetamine were found in the residence, the Pawtucket police release said.
