Providence Man Charged In Fatal Stabbing

PROVIDENCE, RI — A Providence man was arrested after police said he stabbed a 33-year-old man to death inside his apartment.

Marcus Huffman Jones, 31, was arrested Saturday and charged with domestic felony assault. He was arraigned Monday and is being held at Adult Correctional Institution in Cranston.

Just before 11:30 p.m., Aug. 16, Providence police were called to an apartment in the 100th block of Superior Street for a report of a stabbing. When officers arrived, they saw the victim, Kenneth McClain, 33, collapse on the kitchen floor. He was rushed to Rhode Island Hospital for treatment, but later succumbed to his injuries Saturday morning.

Police said they investigated Jones and later identified him as the attacker. Officers got a murder warrant and arrested him Saturday.
