Providence Man Charged With Making False Statement To Obtain Registration: Cops

PROVIDENCE, RI — A Providence man was charged with making a false statement to obtain a registration, police said.

Olivier Peralta, 41, was arrested about 8:30 a.m. Sept. 16 by the Rhode Island State Police Auto Theft Task Force and Adult Correctional Institutions Investigations Unit, the state police said in a media release.

"The arrest was the result of an investigation by members of the Auto Theft Task Force," the release said.

Peralta was processed at the Lincoln Woods Barracks, according to police, then arraigned in Third Division District and released on a personal recognizance bond.
