Man Exposes Self To Child At Warwick Mall: Police

WARWICK, RI — A Providence man was arrested after police said he forced a child into a bathroom stall and exposed himself.

Officers were called to the mall at 400 Bald Hill Road on Dec. 7 for a report of a possible sexual assault, Warwick police said in a news release Friday. When officers arrived, they spoke to a child who said a man forced him into a bathroom stall, and then the man exposed his genitals. Police identified the man as Michael Medeiros, 48.

Following an investigation, Medeiros was arrested on Dec. 19. He was charged with kidnapping and indecent exposure/disorderly conduct. Police said the kidnapping charge was due to Medeiros forcing the child into the bathroom stall against his will.

Warwick Mall security assisted police with the investigation. Police said this was likely an isolated incident.
