Providence Man Wanted In Massachusetts Apprehended: Police

The Providence man was arrested by the Adult Correctional Institutions Investigations Unit, police said.

PROVIDENCE, RI — A Providence man wanted in Massachusetts was apprehended, police said.

Joshua Ortiz, 35, was arrested Thursday by the Rhode Island State Police Adult Correctional Institutions Investigations Unit, the state police said in a media release.

Ortiz was wanted as a fugitive from justice in Massachusetts, according to the release.

"Mr. Ortiz was arraigned in Third Division District Court, where he waived extradition proceedings and was remanded to the custody of the Sheriffs' Department pending his return to Massachusetts," the release said.
