Providence Police Officer Charged With Assault

Officer Francisco Guerra, 41, has been paid on paid administrative leave pending an internal investigation.

PROVIDENCE, RI — A Providence police officer faces charges of assault and disorderly conduct. Officer Francisco Guerra, 41, of Providence, has been placed on administrative leave pending an internal investigation.

According to Providence police, Guerra is being investigated following a domestic incident around 10:30 p.m. on June 8 at Rosario Drive in Providence. Jacqueline Wilson, 45, of Sterling, Connecticut, was also charged with domestic assault and domestic disorderly conduct. Both Guerra and Wilson were arraigned before a bail commissioner on Thursday.

Guerra, a 12-year veteran of the department, was assigned to the Intelligence and Organized Crime Bureau.
