  2. If they don't comply with the city of Providence's vaccination mandate by February 28, 32 of the Providence Police Department's officers face suspension and eventual termination. Providence's vaccination mandate, called for all city employees to become fully vaccinated, either with one dose of Johnson & Johnson or two doses of Pfizer or Moderna by February 28.   3. The year 2021 was a banner year for the Rhode Island Foundation which has reported its highest-ever combined year for grants and fundraising in its 106-year history. The Foundation awarded $76 million in grants to more than 2,300 nonprofit organizations and raised $98 million in gifts in 2021. (WPRI.com)
  4. On February 26, the Providence Preservation Society will hold its Winter Bash: A Night at the Moulin Rouge, to be held at the Trolley Barn at 545 Prairie Avenue. Join in the fun and help support the Preservation Society. (WPRI.com)
  5. It has been determined that it is more cost-effective to knock down the former St. Joseph's Hospital building, which has been vacant for years than it would be to renovate the aged structure. So, the building, which was donated to the city of Providence to turn into a school, will be demolished to build a brand new school in its place. (WPRI.com)
