Providence Sex Offender Arrested For Failing To Register: Cops

The sex offender was arrested by the Rhode Island State Police Violent Fugitive Task Force, police said.

PROVIDENCE, RI — A Providence sex offender was arrested Friday morning and charged with failing to register, police said.

Marlon Clements, 53, was apprehended about 10 a.m. by the Rhode Island State Police Violent Fugitive Task Force, the state police said in a media release.

Clements was wanted on a warrant from the Providence Police Department, according to the release.

"The arrest was the result of an investigation by the Violent Fugitive Task Force," the release said. "Mr. Clements was taken into custody without incident and turned directly over to the Providence Police Department on scene."
