Runaway Inmate Recaptured In RI: Reports
Joshua Torres, 26, fled the Rhode Island Department of Corrections while on an outside work detail, reports said.

PROVIDENCE, RI — The Rhode Island Department of Corrections has arrested a runaway inmate nearly two weeks after he fled while on a job assignment, according to multiple reports.
Joshua Torres, 26, was incarcerated after being convicted of carrying a pistol without a license, ABC6 reported. He was due to be released in March 2027, WJAR added.
Torres' assignment was outside at the central warehouse on Power Road Oct. 10, according to WJAR.

Once he was recaptured, Torres was taken back to the ACI Intake Center, both outlets reported, citing the facility's public relations official.
