Suspicious Package Prompts Closing Of Providence Municipal Court: News Sources
ABC6 News and other outlets are reporting the municipal court in the Providence public safety complex has been closed for the day Thursday.

PROVIDENCE, RI — News outlets are reporting the municipal court in the Providence public safety complex has been closed for the day Thursday. The reason is a suspicious package was found. ABC6 News reported earlier the building was evacuated, and the package in not considered dangerous now. Patch has contacted Providence police for information.
According to Lindsay Lague, the public information office for the Providence Police Department, an envelope of the type used to pay parking tickets had been stuffed with a plastic device. The state bomb squad, Providence Police and Providence Fire Department responded. They determined it was not an explosive, she said. The incident is under investigation.
