Westerly Y Responds to Breastfeeding Claims

WESTERLY, RI — An ACLU suit against the Ocean State Community YMCA has drawn a response from the Westerly Y. The organization said it does allow breastfeeding and said it took "affirmative steps" to address concerns raised by Elizabeth Gooding, of Hopkinton. Gooding said she was discriminated against when she tried to breastfeed her daughter two years ago in the daycare area. The civil liberties group filed a lawsuit Friday against the Ocean Community YMCA in Westerly on her behalf.
