The Richmond Town Council has established a Wellness Committee and is seeking individuals to serve.  The resolution establishing this committee reads:

RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING A WELLNESS COMMITTEE

            WHEREAS, the Town of Richmond has identified the need to continue to expand wellness services; and

            WHEREAS, there is public support for a new facility; and

            WHEREAS, the Richmond Town Council believes that members of the public should be involved in deciding what wellness services and facilities might need to be provided;

 

            THEREFORE, the Town Council hereby establishes an ad hoc committee called the Wellness Committee to make written recommendations to the Town Council concerning wellness services and the availability of a facility appropriate for such services.

1.  The committee shall have no fewer than seven and no more than eleven members. Each member shall have professional training or experience in one or more of the following areas:

a.  Physical health.

b.  Mental and emotional health, including post-traumatic stress disorder.

c.  Recreation and fitness.

d.  Law enforcement.        

e.  Domestic violence.

f.  Substance abuse.

g. Social services, including services to older persons.

h. Low and moderate income housing.

i.  Education.

j.  Municipal finance.

k. Small business.

2. The committee shall elect a chair, a vice chair, and a clerk from among its members, and shall establish a meeting schedule.

3. Members shall serve two-year terms.

4.  The committee shall continue in existence until dissolved by a vote of the Town Council.

If you are interested in applying, please complete the application (link below) and submit it to the Town Clerk's Office no later than December 15, 2021 at 4pm.  The Town Council will consider all applications at its December 21st meeting, and applicants will be asked to attend.
