• Smithfield firefighters rescue unconscious dog from burning home (coastalabc.com) — Smithfield firefighters pulled an unconscious pit bull named Jax from a burning Woodland Road home and brought him back with oxygen, fluids, and cooling towels. The kitchen fire, ruled an accidental stove blaze, was contained, no people were hurt, and Jax recovered quickly enough to return home the same night.
   

• Wheelchair ramp stolen from church in Woonsocket (turnto10.com) — Woonsocket police are asking for tips after a 5-foot aluminum accessibility ramp was stolen from Our Saviour's Parish Church on Smithfield Road. Investigators want witnesses, surveillance footage, or information about anyone trying to sell or discard a similar ramp, and they've shared contact details for residents who may be able to help.
