Smithfield Little League Announces A Division Top Field Day Scorers

(SMITHFIELD, R.I.)-On Saturday, June 15, Smithfield Little Leaguers in the T-ball, A and AA Divisions took to the Deerfield Park Baseball Field for a friendly skills competition followed by an awards ceremony.

Players competed in contests that assessed the most accurate pitch, fastest base running and longest hit off a tee.  The top three players in each competition in each division received a medal.   All participants had their names read aloud and presented a medal of participation.
 
In keeping with a Smithfield Little League tradition, at the conclusion of the awards ceremony, players tossed water balloons at their coaches. 

Michael Sands, Nathan Cogswell, Brendan Duquette, Connor Paradise, Michael Corrigan, Joe LaPorte, Sean Dwyer and Elijah Reed were the top scorers in the A Division for batting, pitching and base running.
