Smithfield Little League Announces Top Overall Field Day Scorers

(SMITHFIELD, R.I.) - On Saturday, June 15, Smithfield Little Leaguers in the T-ball, A and AA Divisions took to the Deerfield Park Baseball Field for a friendly skills competition followed by an awards ceremony.

Players competed in contests that assessed the most accurate pitch, fastest base runner and longest hit off a tee.  The top three players in each division in each competition received a medal.   All participants had their names read aloud and presented a medal of participation.
 
In keeping with a Smithfield Little League tradition, at the conclusion of the awards ceremony, players tossed water balloons at their coaches. 

Pictured left to right, Chris Curry, AA Division; Zachary Albert, T-Ball; and Sean Dwyer, A Division, were the top overall scorers in their respective division for batting, pitching and base running.
