Local North Smithfield Student Named BofA Student Leader
Student Leaders® connects community-minded high school juniors and seniors to employment, skills development and service
Bank of America has named Heather McClure of North Smithfield as one of five Student Leaders in Rhode Island for the 2016 year. The program offers young people, who are engaged community citizens, an opportunity to build their workforce and leadership skills through a paid summer internship at a local nonprofit organization, as well as participation in a Student Leadership Summit in Washington, D.C. Heather, a senior at North Smithfield High School, is an active member of her high school community, serving as both Class Treasurer and National Honor Society President, organizing and participating in numerous volunteer and fundraising efforts. After graduation Heather plans to go to medical school, conducting research on the risks of heart disease, in hopes of reducing them. Heather will be interning at the Boys and Girls Club.
The four other Rhode Island Student Leaders are:
· Bintu Fofana a Providence resident and a junior at Saint Raphael Academy, interning at the Boys and Girls Club.

· Patience Taiwo Adegboyeg, a Pawtucket resident and a senior at Charles E. Shea Senior High School, interning at the Boys and Girls Club.
· Jaislene Vinas a Providence resident and a junior at Central High School, interning at the Boys and Girls Club.
