Hanging 'Lyin' Hillary Clinton' Doll Display Puts Smithfield Farm Store in Crosshairs

Some customers are upset about a farm store's display of a Hillary Clinton doll in a noose.

SMITHFIELD, RI - Sales of the "Lyin' Hillary Clinton" doll would seem to be foundering in the marketplace. The doll had its day being "hanged" at various Donald Trump rallies. Last week, the item could be had for 70 percent off its $24.99 sticker price at www.blackfridaydeals.com.

But now the doll may be spreading the economic pain to a Smithfield farm store.

Or not.

Pleasant View Orchards came under fire this week after some customers posted reviews on Yelp and on Facebook. Some reviewers complained about rude customer service and price gouging for gourds, but the main issue was the Lyin' Hillary doll prominently displayed and hanging from a yarn noose.

Yesterday, the Providence Journal picked up the social media frenzy, and the national news has followed. The comments continue to be posted.

The store does still have its defenders. Although the critics outnumbered them on social media, a store employee reached by telephone today said lots of supporters have been stopping by. The employee also said the doll is staying and is just a conversation piece.

On Yelp, the conversation was hot and heavy. Claire C., of Providence, wrote she was "extremely offended by the violent display of a woman, hillary clinton, being lynched in the store."

Others said they would give Pleasant View a negative star rating if that were possible.

"Love will always TRUMP hate," Shantael C., also of Providence, wrote on Nov. 30. "I will never give my time or money to a person or place who thinks that having a public lynching display is ok. No matter who it is. Having a Hilary doll with a noise around her neck is pure hatred and ignorance in its rarest form. It's disrespectful to our history and to women in general. Who raised you??"

But the doll was okay by John B., of North Providence.

"Found my new 'go to' orchard. Anything that pisses off the libs as much as this place is doing something right :-) If he took down the hitlery doll and started burning American flags would all you butt hurt snowflakes and blm idiots come back????"

Store owner Tony Polseno Jr., 81, could not immediately be reached for comment. According to published reports, he said people misunderstood the display and he will take the doll is anyone is offended.
