Police Raid Smithfield Home & Seize Marijuana
Police moved on a house on Adams Street on Wednesday and seized more than 5 pounds of marijuana, plus close to $10,000 cash.

SMITHFIELD, RI — Thomas P. Maione, 37, of Smithfield, was arrested Wednesday after a 9 a.m. raid on his Adams Street home. He was being investigated for selling marijuana in Town, and a search warrant had been obtained, police said. Detectives seized more than five pounds of marijuana, $9,606 in United States currency, 11 marijuana plants, four digital scales, and numerous marijuana edibles, police allege. Maione is being charged with Possession of Marijuana with Intent to Deliver and Possession of Between One and Five Kilograms of Marijuana. He will be held overnight and will appear in Kent County District Court on Thursday to answer the charges.
