A Johnston woman and a Providence man died Tuesday morning in a crash on Route 146, state police said. A third person is hospitalized.

SMITHFIELD, RI — State police have released the names of the two people killed in Tuesday morning's crash on Route 146, Karissa Harrison, 24, of Johnston, and Henry Feliz, 30, of Providence, were pronounced dead at the scene. A third person is hospitalized. That name is not being released.

The accident happened around 2:10 a.m. State Police Captain Matthew Moynihan said the car was headed north on Route 146 when it went off the road and into the grassy median. It hit a guard rail, rolled over several times and ejected all three people. Captain Moynihan said it is unclear who was driving at the time of the crash. Speed appears to be a factor. None of the occupants was wearing a seat belt.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation by troopers from the Rhode Island State Police Accident Reconstruction Unit and Scituate Barracks.
