Route 146 Head-On Crash: State Police Release Victims' Names

State police have released the names of the people injured in the early morning crash on Route 146 and updated the medical information.

NORTH SMITHFIELD, RI—State police have released the names of the people hurt in a wrong way crash at 3 a.m. Saturday on Route 146. Gabriela Reyes, 19, of Boston, and a passenger in her car, Sonia Sandy, 21, of Worcester, were reported with serious injuries at Rhode Island Hospital. They were in a Honda traveling northbound in the high-speed lane on Route 146 when their car was struck head-on.

Aleksandro Mihali, 22, of Worcester, Mass., was traveling south in the northbound lanes of Route 146 when he hit a Honda Accord head-on, police allege. The accident happened about 800 feet south of the state line. Mihali and the passenger in his car, Poliana Kristani, 23, also Worcester, were taken to Rhode Island Hospital. and reported with serious injuries.

Mihali's condition was not reported earlier. He was charged with three counts of Driving under the influence (resulting in serious bodily injury) and Reckless driving.
