Rhode Island Woman Featured On CBS News Friday
The story referenced a pending change in the state law that would make it legal for children to bring sun screen to school.

SMITHFIELD, RI — A news story aired on CBS-TV national news on Friday about on states, such as Rhode Island, working to make it legal for children to use sunscreen at school. The piece featured a Smithfield resident, Susan Grenon, who wants her son to be able to protect himself from sunburn. The story explained sun screen is considered a medication, and many schools around the U.S. require a doctor's note before they allow children to bring it into the building. Six states have already changed their laws to make it possible for the youngsters to apply sunscreen at school, and eight are considering making similar reforms.
