State Police Arrest Providence Man for Soliciting Child Over Internet
The suspect was on bail for child endangerment charges initially pressed by the Smithfield Police Department.

SMITHFIELD, RI — A police chase after an alleged child predator ended with the suspect crashing his car into a wooden guard rail at a Warwick park, according to Major Dennis B. Fleming, Detective Commander with the state police.
The state Internet Crimes Against Children arrested Dylan Harris, 25, of Providence, today (Jan. 5). He was charged with the following offenses: 1) Indecent Solicitation of a Minor (2 counts), 2) Disseminating Indecent Material to a Minor, 3) Possession of Cocaine, 4) Attempted Assault with a Deadly Weapon, and 5) Eluding.
Fleming said the Task Force "recently initiated an investigation into an individual attempting to solicit a child for indecent purposes."

The suspect is currently on bail for Enticement of a Child and Obstruction charges originating from Smithfield Police.
"As detectives approached Mr. Harris he attempted to flee the area in his vehicle and subsequently crashed into the wooden guardrail at Winslow Park in the City of Warwick. Mr. Harris was taken into custody without further incident."

Harris has a court date tomorrow (Jan. 6) in Third District Court, Warwick, where he will be arraigned on the new charges.
