Teen Injured Playing With Fireworks: Smithfield Fire
A 15-year-old boy was taken to Hasbro Children's Hospital after suffering an injury playing with fireworks.

SMITHFIELD, RI — The Fire Department responded on Tuesday to a home on Cross Street for a youngster injured playing with illegal fireworks. Capt. Michael Dexter said the accident happened around 11 a.m. A 15-year-old boy lit one of the fireworks and suffered a "severe" injury to his hand. He was taken to Hasbro Children's Hospital.
There was no word on his condition Tuesday night. He was at a relative's home when the accident happened.
