Providence Man Drowns in Smithfield Pond
The 19-year-old was swimming at Georgiaville Pond Beach and Pavillon on Stillwater Road.
A 19-year-old Providence man drowned in Georgiaville Pond Beach and Pavillion in Smithfield on Saturday afternoon.
Authorities said the man was taken out of the water by bystanders who performed CPR until emergency crews arrived.
Smithfield Fire Capt. David Chartier told the Providence Journal that crews arrived at 4:24 p.m. and the man was transported to Fatima Hospital.
