LITTLE UGLY is the winner of the "Best Indie Rock Band" award at the 2013 Connecticut Music Awards, was named "Best Musician/Band" in Hartford Magazine's "Best of 2012," and won the 2011 Hartford Advocate Grand Band Slam's "Best Rock Band" award.

The band is the offspring of chief songwriter/singer/acoustic guitarist Michael Day and his collaboration with percussionist Nick Dickinson and violinist/vocalist Kaia Pazdersky. Little Ugly is a band that authentically thrives in its defiance of classification. The mix of imaginative, introspective lyrics and classically trained musicianship has created arrangements that are reminiscent of the eclectic works of artists such as Mumford & Sons, The Decemberists, Silverchair, and Ray LaMontagne - yet they imitate no one.

Delightfully unconventional at every melodious interchange, these three musicians have created a live experience that is a valuable reminder of how music can elevate, captivate, and broaden our minds, as well as move our feet.

GRACE MORRISON opens for Little Ugly tonight. Grace fronts the Americana indie-folk quintet Grace and the RSO, contributing lead vocals, acoustic guitar, and accordion, as well as her formidable songwriting talents. The band formed in 2010, emerging out of the fertile New England music scene. Grace and the RSO use folk and bluegrass instrumentation to tell the stories of early Ireland and England, songs of heroes and villains, kings and queens, and the legends that follow. Much of Grace’s lyrical content is taken straight from the pages of history. She has a sweet, melodic voice that delivers the message of each piece with brilliance and emotion.
