A DIETER'S BEST FRIEND?

More and more people are understanding that it is not the amount of calories and exercise that determine weight.  And those that have gotten the message are finally able to say good riddance to their weight problems forever by reducing the sugar in their diet.

But there is a concern that those that are beginning to understand the dangers of sugar may switch to artificial ingredients that may be just as or more dangerous than fructose itself. Protein powders and/or meal replacement shakes seem to be a staple in many pantries and a dieter’s best friend.  Many of them are advertised as 0 or low calorie because they contain artificial ingredients but yet can actually lead to weight gain.

Elevated insulin and leptin are the forces behind obesity and diabetes and many other diseases.   Some artificial sweeteners will actually stimulate the release of these hormones leading to the storage of fat in the body.
