Beware of Black Ice and Slippery Roads
Tiverton and Little Compton residents should travel with extra caution on Thursday.

The National Weather Service warned drivers in the Tiverton and Little Compton area to beware of black ice and slippery roads.
Black ice on untreated roads and sidewalks is likely and drivers should be especially aware of slippery roads on bridges and overpasses, NWS reports.

The conditions were caused from the recent snowfall melting and then refreezing due to the below freezing temperatures in the past 24 to 36 hours, NWS reports.
The poor weather conditions will continue throughout the day on Thursday.

Residents will catch a break from the freezing temperatures on Saturday, which is expected to be Sunny with a high of 34 degrees, The Weather Channel reports.
