Annual RI Quahog Week Themed Market ~ May 17th

Event Details

3588 Main Rd, Tiverton, RI, 02878

It’s the 10th Annual RI Quahog Week ~ May 17th - 23, 2026

The Tiverton Farmers Market will kick off Quahog Week and celebrate Sunday, May 17th with a Quahog Themed Specialty Market. Join us at our first outside market of the 2026 season and enjoy everything quahog. Our vendors will be running specials, offering their take on the beloved state clam, the quahog and more.

We will be offering a give-away bag to the first 60 kids dressed in their best Quahogger Outfits (any seaside theme is good). Find a baggie with a custom-made coloring booklet, stickers and local shells. Fun stuff for the kids to enjoy. Big thanks to our collaborators and sponsors, RISeafood.gov and DiscoverNewport.org

"Quahog Week highlights the many restaurants, markets, harvesters, and food-based businesses committed to growing Rhode Island's local food economy, with special emphasis on wild harvest clams. Restaurants and markets across Rhode Island will celebrate this sustainable resource and its year-round availability by featuring a quahog dish or special on their menu during the week.

Quahog Week shines a light on our state's favorite local clam, the hard-working men and women who harvest them, and the vibrant local food industry that makes them available to consumers. Quahogging has a rich local history, supporting the livelihoods of hundreds of Rhode Islanders year-round and serving as a treasured pastime for Rhode Island families who enjoy digging their own. Demand for these delicious local clams swells in the summer months due largely to the popularity of fresh-shucked littlenecks, clam cakes, and stuffies. But they also make the perfect fare for chowders, pasta, and other dishes year-round."

"Rhode Island is known for its food and diverse food cultures. The state’s booming local food sector supports more than 60,000 jobs and continues to attract and inspire the imagination of entrepreneurs and innovators. The local fishing industry has been, and continues to be, a vital part of the equation." ~ Discover Newport

Thousands of land-based and water-based businesses are supported by the industry. And local favorites like the quahog “stuffie” are enjoyed by people near and far. Quahogging has a rich history locally, supporting the livelihoods of hundreds of fishers year-round, as well as serving as a treasured pastime for Rhode Island families.

Wear your best quahogging outfit and float on by.  Remember, it's our first week outside at the Tiverton Town Farm Recreational Area.
