Cardinals Win Tiverton Minor League Softball Championship
The Tiverton Little League's minor league softball team, the Cardinals, defeated the Mudhens on Tuesday, June 21, for the league championship.
The Cardinals of the Tiverton minor league girls' softball team defeated the Mudhens 11-2 on Tuesday, June 21 at Pocasset Field to win the league championship.
Head Coach Tim Travis said the team had 12 wins and three losses during the regular season and had five returning players this year that contributed heavily to victory. The team made it to the championship last year against the Diamondbacks and lost.
"It was a lot of fun," he said on Thursday. "They had a good year. They all really played well."
