Construction Work in High Gear on Huge New Tiverton Library

Tiverton will soon have a new library.

Workers this week completed the building's frame, the Associated Press reported.

The building, located on Bulgarmarsh Road, is scheduled to open in the spring.

The $10.6 million library will be 10 times the size of the old one, according to the Rhode Island Library Report.

“You can’t get a job today if you can’t get online," U.S. Sen. Jack Reed, D-RI, told the Library Report last year. "And for many people the only place they’re going to get online is at the library. This is about economic development, as well as intellectual tasks."
