The Third Annual Soccer RI Festival features soccer games both days and many activities for kids. This year the festival benefits the Megan L. Cordeiro Memorial Scholarship, which is awarded annually to a Tiverton High School female soccer player. Megan Cordeiro was an avid Tiverton Youth Soccer player who passed away at age 11 in 1008 from acute myelogenous leukemia. There is a memorial foundation in her name, and her family has been active in raising money for charitable causes related to childhood cancer.
