Hurricane Irene tore hundreds of walnuts from the trees surrounding the kiosk at the Main Road entrance to Pardon Gray reserve. It is necessary to remove these nuts before Pardon Gray Day.
On Saturday, Sept. 3 at 10:00 a.m., the Tiverton Land Trust will sponsor a Walnut Hunt. Bring a container for collecting and then bring the nuts to the counting station and collect two cents per nut. The nuts will be poured into a large barrel for disposal and you can go back and collect more. This event will take place rain or shine and is open to kids from 2-15.
