A three-member family was displaced Friday morning after a fire damaged their Tiverton home.
WPRI reported that town firefighters responded to Hayden Ave. just after 9 a.m.
The fire took about an hour to extinguish and the inside of the house was heavily damaged. The family members were safe, but several pets were killed.

The Red Cross is assisting one adult and two children with emergency housing and basic living needs. Investigators are looking into what caused the fire.
