Lightning Strikes Buildings in Tiverton, including Home Daycare
A total of four houses were struck causing minor damage and outages.

Ten people inside a house on Main Road are OK after the house was struck by lightning twice during a powerful thunderstorm Monday morning.
Tiverton Fire Chief Robert Lloyd told WPRI that the house is home daycare and lightning strikes are not uncommon in the area.
Four houses in Tiverton were struck in all and National Grid and fire crews were busy responding to the incidents through the morning. There was also a report of a house on Old Main Road in Little Compton being struck.

Minor damage was reported.
There was also significant street flooding across the area as more than three inches of rain fell in less than an hour before noon. Main Road near Bulgarmarsh Road was especially hit hard.
