Newport Police Charge Tiverton Man With Carrying A Pistol Without A Permit
Brayton Allen Turner, 32, of Little Compton, was found with two Glock semi-automatic pistols and 6 loaded ammunition rounds, police said.

NEWPORT, RI — Police found weapons in a Little Compton man's car, which they searched during a car stop. Brayton Allen Turner, 32, was stopped near Sherman Lane and Coddington Highway on Sunday at 11:45 a.m. Officers were aware of reports he was carrying firearms in Newport in connection with a shooting complaint Little Compton police investigated on July 1. During the car stop, police suspected he had a weapon because he kept glancing at a green bag in the car. They asked him to step out of the car and conducted a search for firearms. Turner objected to the search. Officers said they found a red Glock and a blue Glock in gun cases, as well as six loaded magazines. He was charged with carrying a pistol without a license or a permit.
