Police Log: Attempted Larceny from Church, Narcotic Possession Arrest
Excerpts from the Tiverton Police Department log.

Sunday, Oct. 5
At 2:21 a.m., police arrested George Horr, 50, for three counts of injuring and tampering with a motor vehicle and two counts of larceny under $1,500. Police responded to a suspicious person report on Stafford Road and observed Horr riding a bicycle and carrying a plastic bag. Horr was found to be in possession of a power tool, electronic devices, women’s jewelry, women’s clothing and change that were later connected to vehicle break-ins on Florence Street and Crandall Road.

At 1:54 a.m., police arrested Kevin Sousa, 27, and Abel Sousa, 34, for possessing burglary tools, attempted larceny and obstruction of a police car. Officers observed Kevin and Abel Sousa in dark clothing in the parking lot of the Holy Ghost Church on Judson Street and discovered they were in possession of a pry bar and had damaged the church gutters in an attempt to seal them from the building.

At 5:16 p.m., police arrested Claywell Chafton, 25, on an outstanding affidavit arrest warrant for receiving stolen goods and Brian Ferreira, 28, on a superior court bench warrant. Police identified Chafton and Ferreira when they responded to a trash dumping complaint on Judson Street.
Thursday, Oct, 9
Michael Reynolds, 68, was arrested on an outstanding warrant for leaving the scene of an accident that caused damage to a motor vehicle.
Friday, Oct. 10
At 1:47 a.m., police arrested Dana Mazyck, 31, on a warrant and for possession of a Schedule IV narcotic on Bay Street. Officers observed a suspicious vehicle parked on the side of the roadway and discovered the passenger had an active warrant from the Sixth Division District Court in Providence and placed him under arrest. Officers then found narcotics in his possession. He was arraigned and bail was set at $2,000.
