Police Log: Domestic Assault, Suspicious Calls, Man Follows Woman on Beach

The following arrests and incidents were reported by Little Compton police. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

DOMESTIC
Little Compton Police charged a 43-year-old Little Compton man with domestic assault and domestic disorderly conduct Aug. 10 at 4:25 p.m.

Police said police were dispatched to a Wild Cherry Drive residents for a report of a domestic assault. After an investigation, Keenan was determined to have verbally abused and then assaulted a woman.

INCIDENTS
On Aug. 10 at 2:05 p.m., a resident turned an iPhone found lying in the road to police headquarters.

On Aug. 10 at 7:27 p.m., a resident reported she picked up a dog walking down Old Stone Church Road. The dog was transported to the Sakonnet vet hospital.

On Aug. 12 at 7:19 p.m., a Maple Avenue resident told police that he got a suspicious phone call from someone asking to confirm his Social Security number.

On Aug. 13 at 2:49 p.m. a resident reported finding a sick cat on Stone Church Road. Police captured the cat and it was transported to the vet hospital.

On Aug. 14 at 11:17 a.m., an East View Drive resident told police that someone stole money and medication from his unlocked car overnight.

On Aug. 14 at 2:31 p.m. a resident turned in a wallet found lying in the road near Sakonnet Point.

On Aug. 16 at 8:37 a.m. a resident told police that man was following his daughter while she was walking on the beach with a friend. The man “was known to the complainant” and she wanted a report filed, police said.

On Aug. 16 at 12:21 a.m., an Old Main Road resident told police that he’s received harassing phone calls. He “advised he would handle the matter with a restraining order” and asked that police file a report about the incident.
