Police: Tiverton Woman Threatened to Stab Husband

Police said they got a 911 hangup call and found Whitney Correia running along fish road after an alleged domestic dispute.

Tiverton Police charged 24-year-old Whitney Correia of Tiverton with possession of a dangerous weapon and domestic assault and battery with a dangerous weapon for allegedly assaulting her husband and threatening to stab him with a knife.

Police said they arrested Correia on April 6 after officers found her running along Fish Road. Police were dispatched to the area after a 911 hangup phone call.

After an investigation, police concluded that Correia had become involved in a domestic spat with her husband before becoming violent.

She was arraigned and released on $5,000 personal recognizance.

The charges are felonies and Correia is due to return to court on May 14 for a Newport Attorney General screening conference, according to court records.
