Restaurant 524 Opens In Tiverton, Attached to Randy's Deli

Sharing the same kitchen with Randy's Cafe & Grille, Restaurant 524 offers upscale Mediterranean cuisine.

There are many places in Tiverton where one can get a sandwich, a burger or a pizza, but what about taking your special someone for a out to a romantic dinner?

Restaurant 524, located at 524 Main Road, held its grand opening on May 17.

"Restaurant 524 will be a small intimate place, a place where couples and others can come to enjoy fine upscale dinning in their own hometown,” said co-owner Tony Lucci, on what he and his partners Randy and Marcel Santerre hope to achieve with their new offering in Tiverton.

“We will offer French and Italian dishes and plenty of American fare as well as, and of course, beer and wine,” he said.

Restaurants aren’t anything new for Lucci.

He called himself a perfectionist who went to Johnson and Wales University, graduating in 1991. Lucci is an executive chef and has managed or owned restaurants in Key West, Boca Raton, West Hartford, Boston, Chicago and Providence.

He said idea for Restaurant 524 came from a chance encounter through social networking.

“We were friends 20 plus years ago and worked together at La Bistro in Newport," said Lucci. "We started talking through FaceBook."

About that time, Randy was starting his own restaurant called next door to Restaurant 524 at 520 Main Road. It opened in June 2010. Randy’s serves breakfast and lunch, and they make fresh sandwiches, soups and salads for people on the run.

As the three talked, they knew an upscale dinning experience would be a hit and came up with the plan for Restaurant 524. Sharing the kitchen, tt would be located right next store. Work on Restaurant 524 started last November.

“People have been peaking in through the windows to see what’s going on since,” Lucci said with his trademark smile.

According to Lucci, everything was designed by Montage Design Steffen Andrews for free.

“Steffen had designed many different venues but had never designed a restaurant, so he donated his time and now he can put what he did in his portfolio and we have a wonderful showcase for our customers," said Lucci. "It works out well for everyone,”

A comfortable, romantic setting, Restaurant 524 has fine linens on the tables, leather furniture and faux silver alligator skin at the bar. It's available for a ladies night out, an anniversary dinner, or just to treat yourself.

They are open Tuesdays through Sundays, 5 p.m. – 10 p.m and can be reached at 401-625-1100.
