The national competition is held on Friday, Dec. 9 at Disneyworld in Florida and the team is currently seeking sponsors and donations to fund the trip.

The Sakonnet Schooner Pop Warner Midget Cheerleaders took first place last weekend at the regional competition in Worcester and now plan for the nationals on Friday, Dec. 9 at Disneyworld in Florida. The squad won the Midget Novice Small Division, according to Renee Sartini, parent and team mom.
Sartini reported the Peewee's placed fifth on Saturday and the Junior Midgets did not place.
"We're still very happy that they made it to regionals," Sartini said in an email. "It's a very big accomplishment for them all."
