Tiverton Police: Phone Scam Threatens Victims With Arrest
Police are alerting residents to a new telephone scam.

TIVERTON, RI — Police are alerting residents to a new telephone scam. In this one, the caller demands payment for a credit card or other bill and identifies himself as a police officer. If payment is not received, the caller says, then police will issue an arrest warrant.
"It's a scam," the police said. Officers don't collect credit card payments or other bills.
