Undefeated Tiverton U16 Girls' Soccer Team Wins RI Cup Championship
The Tiverton U16 girls' soccer team defeated Exeter-West Greenwich 2-1 last weekend for the Rhode Island Cup Championship

The Tiverton Youth Soccer U16 girls' soccer team won the Rhode Island Cup Championship this weekend in Smithfield, defeating Exeter-Greenwich 2-1. They completed the spring season with a perfect record of 12-0.
Head Coach Chris Benevides said player Emily Machado had the first goal off an assist from Eileen Kinnane. The winning goal was scored on a great shot by Colleen Gillis.
"All season the girls were amazing at gaining an advantage and then holding a lead," he said in an email.

Eight of Tiverton's 12 victories were won by just one goal, making most matches competitive right to the end.
Their semifinal match went to overtime against Portsmouth. Benevides said Katie Wordell scored off a pass from Kelsie Korzenowski for the 1-0 win. They defeated Warren 4-3 in the quarterfinal match. Hannah Wilkie scored 2 goals, Brook Hawkins had one, and Ashlie Zeller scored the winner. Katie Wordell had two assists and Alli Benevides had 1.

Tiverton in the Rhode Island Super Liga Championship earlier this month to get to the RI Cup.
Team members are Allison Benevides, Regan Burke, Katy Careveo, Colleen Gillis, Brook Hawkins, Eileen Kinnane, Kelsie Korzenowski, Emily Machado, Mackenzie Mello, Kayla Paull, Rebecca Turner, Kayla Walker, Abby Wilkie, Hannah Wilkie, Katie Wordell, and Ashlie Zeller.
The team is coached by Benevides, Bob Burke and Pete Korzenowski.
