Kicks Off Project Welcome !
The United Congregational Church of Little Compton is embarking on a Capital Campaign to fund Project Welcomewith a Kick Off Celebration at the Church on Saturday, June 2, 2018 at 5:00 PM. The Kick Off will include Live Music, a Dinner Buffet, children’s activities, and a presentation explaining Project Welcome for this historic church on the Commons.
Project Welcomeincludes three aspects. Widening our Welcome will createa new spacious North Entrance with easy access for all to the Vestry and the Sanctuary, a new more accessible elevator, new walkways to the new entrance leading from handicapped parking areas along the east side of the building, wheelchair accessible pews in the Sanctuary so families can sit together, and two north stairwells for access to the Sanctuary.
Enhancing our Hospitality includes renovations and updates to the Kitchen to accommodate the many needs of the church to better serve the community; a remodeled Vestry to create a more spacious and inviting room for church and community activities, improvements to the heating and air conditioning systems, and a new sitting garden area on the North lawn for quiet enjoyment by the Community.

Improving our Safety will update the historic church buildingwith new electrical and lighting systems, new internal stairwells in the North Entrance, a modern fire-resistant ceiling above the Vestry, and additional hand rails for the winding staircases at the front of church.
Rev. Rebecca Floyd-Marshall, Pastor of the United Congregational Church, has provided inspiration for these new renovations to Widen our Welcome,Enhance our Hospitality and Improve our Safety!

Plans are underway to raise $750K to complete the project. Everyone is invited to be part of this exciting opportunity to learn more about Project Welcome and participate in the church’s growth and future in Little Compton.
