Woman Assaulted After Failed Tiverton Robbery
The woman told police she was walking on Judson Street on Sunday night when a man came up behind her and demanded money.

TIVERTON, RI—A 41-year-old Tiverton woman went to the hospital for a cut over her eye after a man struck her during an attempted robbery Sunday night. According to the Tiverton police, she called 911 shortly before 9 p.m. to report the crime. She had been walking near Judson Street when she felt something pressed against her back. A man grabbed her and demanded money. He hit her over the left eye with a "hard object" when she said she didn't have any money. Then he fled on a silver and black BMX bicycle.
He's described as white in his early to mid-20's. He was wearing a blue or black baseball cap, a blue or black t-shirt and blue jeans.
The woman was treated at the hospital and released.
