WARWICK, RI — A Virginian was nabbed at a Warwick motel with five firearms, ammunition and large-capacity magazines, police said.
James Price, 40, was arrested Friday on charges of carrying a pistol or revolver without a license or permit, loaded weapon in a vehicle, possession of a sawed-off shotgun or sawed-off rifle, and large-capacity feeding devices prohibited, the Warwick Police Department said in a media release.
"Officers recovered four firearms from his person and the vehicle he was operating, along with ammunition and large-capacity magazines," the release said.
"Detectives recovered a fifth firearm while executing a search warrant for his hotel room," according to the release.
"One rifle had a 12-inch barrel, meeting the definition of a 'sawed-off rifle" under state law, the release said.
