Wanted Providence Man Charged With Eluding Law: Cops

The Providence man had warrants for his arrest when he was charged with eluding the law, police said.

WARWICK, RI — A wanted Providence man picked up new charges when he was arrested, police said.

Ryan Scott, 39, was pulled over on Interstate 95 in Warwick about 10:15 p.m. Monday and arrested on charges of eluding law enforcement in a high-speed pursuit, obstructing an officer in the execution of duty and operating on a suspended license, the Rhode Island State Police said in a media release.

Scott was also arrested on a warrant charging him with domestic assault by strangulation, domestic assault with a dangerous weapon and interference with an electric meter, the release said.

In addition, Scott was arrested on warrants charging him with missing court for driving with a suspended license cases, according to the release.

Scott was processed at the Wickford Barracks and held overnight pending a morning arraignment in Third Division District Court, the release said.
